World Consul
Update January 1, 2021: Sadly, with a flurry of Executive Orders, the US has ended access to immigrants, refugees, and asylees as of March 20, 2020. Many of these orders have been stricken down by the courts, but immigration remains difficult and dangerous to the US during the Pandemic, placing our Social Enterprise business plan on hold for the foreseeable future.
Care for the most vulnerable during the Pandemic and financial recovery has to include Human Rights Defenders, champions of human rights, who are often the targets of abuse by governments, corporations, and special interests they challenge. Respite, including counseling, wraparound social services, and a training and personal growth program are on offer.
WorldConsul will begin as a Social Enterprise supported through combined in kind contribution by the founder, funding generated by Consular, Consulting, and Counseling services, and volunteer support and donations. This type of organization fills the need for rapid bootstrapping due to the developing crisis. Transition of the organization to non-profit NGO charter with social enterprise funding matching donations within the first year is the goal.
The founder will pay for a majority of expenses through year 3, and already has houses/lodging, furnishings, transportation, and skills and experience to professionally staff the program.
WorldConsul is committed to transparency, inclusion, respect, and will have a board of visitors, legal counsel, and auditor.
